The World Heritage Day was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at Veda Vyasa DAV Public School with a plethora of activities. The day commenced with a special assembly under the able guidance of the principal Ms. Shalini Arora and Social Science department head Ms. Anju Singh which served as a poignant reminder of the invaluable legacy entrusted to us and the imperative of collective action to preserve and protect it for posterity. It included fusion performance by the teachers, with the students sharing about the significance of heritage in our lives by emphasizing on types of heritage (living, built, natural). It was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by the students showcasing dances of the world. The assembly came to an end with a principal's address and taking of heritage pledge. The department head gave a closing address sharing facts about the national anthem being a heritage.
The assembly was followed by classroom activities from classes III to VII which included highlighting the richness of the art forms across the world, as well as designing beautiful posters related to protection of our heritage, poetry recitation and cultural fashion show. The uniqueness of heritage lineage found in our families was exhibited in the family trees prepared by the students.
The day ended on students carrying the vibrance of our heritage and unveiling its beauty in a true sense.
